A: I feel a personal connection to my primary locations. In the 90’s I lived in Citrus Heights on Wonder Street. My house was directly across from Madera Park. It is where my children grew up. It was a peaceful place. It reminded me of where I grew up. During this time I was still in the Air Force. I would drive thru North Highlands everyday on my way to McClellan Air Force Base. It was here where I was the supervisor of the medical department. Many of my civilian staff lived in Florin, Oak Park, South Sacramento and Del Paso Heights. We serviced a lot of retirees who lived in North Highlands. Back in those days my staff and I were tight and we visited each other often. I even remember when Florin had the Florin Mall. I remember when Kevin Johnson, who served as the 55th mayor of Sacramento from 2008 to 2016, a notable former mayor who is from the Oak Park neighborhood. After I retired from the Air Force in 2001, I started my career in Real Estate as a realtor. Many of my buyers at the time bought in these very same locations. They were affordable neighborhoods then and still are today. So I like to buy and resale in these areas. It allows me to assist first times buyers and simultaneously redevelop communities.
